Creative Commons and Australian Copyright (Part 2)

Creative Commons, or CC, is an emerging paradigm “devoted to expanding creative works so others can build upon and share them legally”. It was founded by Lawrence Lessig in 2001.In other words, CC seeks to bridge the gap between making copyright easier to understand, without replacing the law itself. Last Tuesday on Drive, we framed a context for a divisive legislation that restricts copyrighted material from being distributed on social media platforms, and how this might Australian copyright. Delia Browne, who is also on the Board of Directors for Creative Commons Australia, joins us once again today to explain how Creative Commons works.
