The Rise of Fanfiction
Fanfiction had a long history, even before the internet helped boost it into popular culture. If you’ve ever watched or read 50 Shades of Grey and wondered why it seems so familiar, it was initially written as Twilight fanfiction and then turned into an extremely profitable novel and film franchise. So what did this mean for writers, authorship, copyright and all the things that go along with that?
