Gili Gatherings with Akala Newman

Gili Gatherings is a day-long festival curated by Wiradjuri/Gadigal artist Akala Newman, that celebrates and spotlights the voices and stories of First Nations people.

Gili meaning ‘to shine’ in the Gadigal language, inspires this live event through storytelling in many forms.

On Saturday the 5th of August, PACT Centre for Emerging Artists’ will open its iconic Erskineville Warehouse doors to host a full day of activities and events including live art making, poetry, dance, music, food stalls, and so much more.

Our thanks to Akala Newman who joined 2SER Breakfast to give us the scoop on Gili Gatherings.
