Private information of patients receiving mental health treatment or HIV medication has been exposed. Researchers have claimed to have been able to identify patients from the government healthcare data that was supposedly anonymous. A new report released on Monday, co written by our guest Dr Vanessa Teague, describes the team’s ability to easily access information to possibly identify seven famous Australians within the same data set, without having to use their patient ID numbers.
