Guru of Chai
Winner of 3 New Zealand Theatre Awards for Best Play, Best Production and Best Composer, Guru of Chai makes its way to Wollongong Town Hall from 23rd – 25th February.
It’s about a poor chai-wallah (tea seller) whose life changes when a young girl is abandoned at a busy railway station, and brings the place to a standstill with the beauty of her singing.
World renown actor Jacob Rajan plays 17 characters and leaps to multiple locations, companied by a vibrant-musical score performed live.
Guru of Chai is an award-winning, heartstring-pulling and outrageously funny, innovative modern fairy tale packed with love and magic.
Co-writer and actor, Jacob Rajan joined Danny Chifley on 2SER Breakfast.
