You watch them on the TV, you cheer or boo them at the stadium and for many young kids you look up to them.
The life of a professional athlete is one of perseverance, hard work, glory and often a loss.
But what comes after you’ve played your last game? Or run your last race?
An event held at the University of Technology Sydney this week called UTSpeaks: Athletic Excellence is taking a closer look at what it takes to reach the top in the pro sporting world and in one particular talk, making peace with the end of a career which for some doesn’t always come easy.
