NeuRa launches trial CRPS treatment
Complex Regional Pain Syndrome or CRPS affects around 5,000 Australians annually. Yet there is very little research available for it’s treatment. CRPS causes its patients to have severe burning, stinging and stabbing pain in their limbs leaving them essentially disabled.
Michael Ferraro is one of the 12 international scientists and clinicians who are part of the NeuRa and NHRMC funded trial study for CRPS. The trial is supported by UNSW and USyd among other universities. Ferraro joined with The Daily to talk about what the research will entail, what they are hoping to achieve for its treatment and how those affected can get involved.
