Just how smart are smart homes?
Smart Homes are the tech buzzterm de jour, with more and more smart devices available in Australia. Manufacturers tout the simplicity of installation, the convenience of automating household tasks and even the savings available thanks to the much-hyped energy efficiency.
But who’s using these smart devices and and are they making a difference in the home? Nic spoke with Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Urban Research at RMIT University, Yolande Strengers to chat about her research into the reality of smart homes.
