This Day in History, July 16th
Put on the magic amulet, take my hand and we’re off on a journey through time and space for this day in history. Today in 622 marks the beginning of the Islamic Calendar, when Muhammed and his followers established the first Muslim community in Medina. Union troops marched into Virginia for what will become the First Battle of Bull Run, the first major land battle of the American Civil War, and the US Manhattan Project successfully detonated a plutonium-based test nuclear weapon for the first time. Plus birthdays for Ginger Rogers, Will Ferrell, and Stewart Copeland of The Police!
