Taking a ride in the 2ser time machine, today in 762 the city of Baghdad was founded, soon to be the largest city in the entire world for much of the Abbasid era during the Islamic Golden Age. Union forces attempted to break Confederate lines at Petersburg, Virginia by exploding a bomb consisting of 320 kegs of gunpower under their trenches during the American Civil War, at the ‘Battle of the Crater’, and tragedy struck Thredo in NSW when a landslide destroyed ski lodges and killed 18 people. Birthdays today as well for Emily Bronte, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Buddy Guy, and Kate Bush!
