Live music is vital to the fabric of any city and in the past few years, live music venues in Sydney have been closing down at a rapid rate. One venue fighting against this trend is The Newsagency, an intimate performance space run by musician Alison Avron. The space got its name from its first home, a former newsagents in Marrickville. The Newsagency stopped operating in Marrickville last year but is now back better than ever at its wonderful new home in Annandale. We chat to the venue’s founder Alison Avron now to find out more.
