Glamorizing Violent Offenders in The Media
With the growing popularity of the true crime genre, shows and podcasts are often glamourising perpetrators and there is a call for its need to stop. Instead of allowing for offender’s names to become familiarised, there is a shift in recognising and naming the victims of these crimes instead to honour and respect them. Today we were joined by Dr Xanthe Mallett, Senior Lecturer at the School of Humanities and Social Science at Newcastle University to discuss the shift from glamorization in crime and its offenders.
