This week Andrew and Tess launch in to the much-loved genre of young adult fiction with Kate Hendrick’s second novel, “The Finder”. The novel’s protagonist, Lindsey, is a teenage girl, but also a real hardboiled-detective type. Lonesome, disdainful and pessimistic, Lindsey is thrown together with the optimistic Elias in a quest to find Elias’s birth mother – but the normal cliches that emerge from juxtaposing conflicting personalities do not come about in ways you might expect.
